FXN-S1 fire suppression sticker for electrical outlet and switch boxes

Behind the wall plate

What is behind your outlet?

Behind every wall plate is a small electrical box holding wiring and connections. That enclosed space is where overheating, arcing, and short circuits can begin, hidden from view until there is smoke. FXN-S1 adds a layer of protection inside that space, right where an electrical fire risk starts.

How it works

Automatic protection in three steps

01

Install it inside the box

Mount the sticker on a clean, flat surface near the top of the electrical box, behind the outlet or switch.

02

It waits, unpowered

FXN-S1 is fully passive. No batteries, sensors, or wiring. It sits ready for years.

03

Heat triggers it automatically

At 248°F (120°C), microcapsules release FK-5-1-12 clean agent directly at the heat source to suppress early-stage ignition.

Where it installs

Designed for the boxes already in your walls

FXN-S1 fits common enclosed indoor outlet and switch boxes, including old-work boxes in existing walls and new-work boxes used in construction and remodels.

Install one FXN-S1 per gang: one for a single outlet box, two for a double (2-gang) box, and three for a 3-gang box. Place it flat on an available upper-left or upper-right clean, dry interior surface, clear of wiring, terminals, connectors, and the device itself.

Installation

Install in minutes

A simple DIY install, if you are comfortable working at the outlet.

  1. Turn off power at the breaker and verify the circuit is off. If you cannot verify this safely, stop and use a licensed electrician.
  2. Remove the cover plate and gently pull the outlet or switch forward.
  3. Find a clean, dry, flat upper-area spot inside the box and confirm adequate clearance.
  4. Peel and press one FXN-S1 flat for 10 seconds, keeping it clear of all wiring and connections.
  5. Reinstall the device and cover plate, note the date, and restore power.

Full instructions and safety warnings are in the included installation guide. View technical data sheets.

Know its role

What FXN-S1 is, and what it is not

FXN-S1 provides supplemental, early-stage fire suppression inside enclosed indoor outlet and switch boxes. It does not prevent electrical faults, and it does not replace proper electrical installation and repair, breakers, AFCI/GFCI protection, smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, sprinklers, or any code-required fire protection.

For indoor enclosed boxes only. Not for open-air use, damp locations, or spaces where sustained temperatures exceed 149°F (65°C). If you suspect an electrical problem, turn off the circuit and have a licensed electrician find and fix the cause.

Common questions

FXN-S1 FAQ

Can I install it myself?

Yes, if you are comfortable turning off the breaker, verifying the power is off, and removing a cover plate. If you cannot safely verify power is off, or the box is crowded or damaged, use a licensed electrician.

What does “one per gang” mean?

A gang is one outlet or switch position. A single outlet box is 1-gang and needs one FXN-S1. A 2-gang box needs two. The 12-pack covers up to 12 gangs.

Does it need power, batteries, or Wi-Fi?

No. FXN-S1 is fully passive and activates from heat alone, with no power, sensors, wiring, or electronics.

What happens after it activates?

Turn off the circuit and stop using that outlet or switch. Have a licensed electrician inspect and fix the underlying electrical problem, then replace the sticker.

How long does it last?

Recommended replacement is 5 years after installation under stated conditions. Check it visually whenever the box is open.

Does it replace my smoke alarm or extinguisher?

No. FXN-S1 is supplemental, localized protection inside the electrical box. It does not replace smoke alarms, extinguishers, sprinklers, electrical maintenance, or code-required protection.
