Yes. The California Office of the State Fire Marshal confirmed that FireXNull’s product category is not required by California state law to be OSFM-listed. OSFM also confirmed that the absence of an OSFM listing does not prohibit the sale, marketing, or use of the products in California, provided applicable requirements are met. Because OSFM does not maintain a listing category for this type of product, FireXNull products are not OSFM-listed.
Yes, depending on the vessel, application, and applicable regulations. The U.S. Coast Guard advised that there is currently no specific carriage requirement for a fire-suppression system inside electrical compartments, so USCG type approval is not issued for that application. USCG also noted that certain non-approved fire-extinguishing equipment may be installed on some vessels as “excess equipment” or “equipment installed but not required,” provided applicable vessel requirements and recognized industry standards are satisfied. FireXNull products should not be represented as USCG type-approved.
