FXN Tape is a passive, heat-activated, microcapsule-based fire suppression tape designed to provide supplemental localized protection at wire connections, terminals and bus connectors inside electrical equipment. Its microcapsules contain electrically non-conductive FK-5-1-12 clean agent. The tape activates without sensors, batteries, external power or control wiring.
Evaluate FXN Tape where heat at a specific connection is the concern: terminal blocks, wire junctions, cable lugs and panel connections in control cabinets, distribution enclosures and OEM assemblies. It acts at the connection itself but does not prevent electrical faults, replace proper torque and termination practice, or replace required fire and electrical safety systems.

Installation and Electrical Safety
Installation should be performed by qualified personnel. Turn off and verify the equipment is de-energized, and follow applicable lockout/tagout and electrical safe-work procedures. Confirm the connection is correctly made, torqued and insulated before applying FXN Tape. Apply the tape to clean, dry connections so it covers the connection fully and adheres without lifted edges, following the installation instructions. Keep required electrical clearances, labels and inspection points accessible.
FXN Tape is not electrical insulation, a splice or a fault-repair product. Never apply it to energized conductors, and do not use it to cover a damaged or overheating connection. Correct the electrical problem first.
Where Can FXN Tape Be Evaluated?
Use in energy-storage installations, if considered, is limited to suitable electrical connections within a broader safety design. FXN Tape is not claimed to stop battery thermal runaway or propagation.
